R-10T Mech ( Fan Art )

For this college assignment, I created a fully-realized sci-fi combat mech named R-10T. The goal of the project was to demonstrate my understanding of the complete 3D production pipeline, including modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering.

The R-10T is designed as a heavy assault mech equipped with dual rotary cannons, missile pods, reinforced armor plating, and mechanical legs built for stability in high-impact environments. I focused on giving it a grounded, industrial look by adding surface wear, rust, decals, and functional mechanical components.

The asset was first modeled in Maya, and then detailed with high-poly sculpting where needed. UV unwrapping was done efficiently to maximize texel density. I textured the mech in Substance Painter, using realistic metal, dirt, and emission maps to highlight the machine’s power core and weapon systems. Final lighting and rendering were completed to achieve a cinematic and atmospheric look that enhances the mech’s scale and mood.

This project helped me improve my hard-surface modeling, texturing, and presentation skills, while also exploring the design language of futuristic military machinery.
